Transparent Silence

What happens in a glance, before words?

What shapes the spaces between people?

What does it take to truly see another person?

Relationships are complex and fluid, enduring and uncertain. Feeling like we know someone can happen in minutes or extend over a lifetime.  As humans, we long for connection but also fear it. Being known makes us vulnerable. Most of us live in a space between hiding and full disclosure. Yet it is not just a matter of silence or speech, holding back or revealing:  sometimes we also need others in order to know ourselves.

This series explores the color and ambiguity of relationships. Two people become the world of a painting, and a world for each other.
